HQ Facility Case Study
HQ Dumpsters & Recycling, a fast-growing startup in the Plantsville area of Southington, Connecticut knows the importance of energy conservation, with its 2008 launched bearing the full brunt of the energy crisis. Despite the high energy costs, HQ's innovation, excellent customer service, operating efficiency and competitive rates resulted in rapid expansion of th recycling services over the next few years.
The winter of early 2015 was one of Connecticut's worst winters on record. So, before constructing its new expansion facility, HQ management contacted American Radiant for an energy consult. HQ wanted an environmentally clean, energy-efficient, cost effective solution that would stand the test of time, require little-to-no maintenance, and provide a comfortable, productive work place for its growing number of employees.
AmRad's heat load calculations determined that this area, if heated by conventional forced air, would require 308,000 BTUs.
American Radiant proposed and designed an In-Slab Radiant Heating system for the 8,000 sq ft building expending only 176,000 BTUs, saving HQ over 46 percent, while providing greater comfort and cleanliness.
